Dr. Joanne Cacciatore is a bereaved mother and the founder of the MISS Foundation, an international NGO supporting families who have lost children, and the Selah Carefarm, a restorative community aiding those in traumatic grief. A Professor at Arizona State University, she leads the Graduate Certificate in Trauma and Bereavement. Her award-winning bestseller, Bearing the Unbearable, has transformed cultural perspectives on grief.
Dr. Cacciatore also served on Oprah and Prince Harry’s Mental Health Advisory Board and teaches mindfulness and compassion globally. A dedicated vegan since 1972, she advocates for ethical, environmental, and social justice in food production.
