Pat Ogden, PhD, is a pioneer in somatic psychology and the creator of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. She founded the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute and co-founded the Hakomi Institute. With over 45 years of experience, Dr. Ogden has been a faculty member at Naropa University and is a renowned clinician and international lecturer.
She authored Trauma and the Body and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy: Interventions for Trauma and Attachment, and recently published The Pocket Guide to Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. Her current research focuses on complex trauma, relational dynamics, and the philosophical principles underlying Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. She is also working on a book on Sensorimotor Psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and families.
